On May 9th MBL commissioner Sean Brunson posted a photo on Instagram about the best Pro-Am in the nation known as the Drew League. Located in Compton, California, the Drew brings out all the stars every summer to ball including Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Nick Young, and more. Hip-Hop artist The Game puts his "Money Gang" squad in the league every year with a roster full of NBA talent (last year's team featured James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, and Metta World Peace).
In the post Brunson acknowledged the history of the long-running league and his aspirations of having the MBL one day reach the same level of success. Brunson said, "Having a league as legendary as the Drew League like the photo and comment six simple words meant a lot to me. It's a simple acknowledgement, but an acknowledgement nonetheless." The Drew League begins its 41st season on May 17th, the Maryland Basketball League begins its inaugural season June 1st!
